Jinyan Fan, Ph.D., (Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Ohio State University, 2004) is a native of China and is currently an associate professor and the director of the Industrial and Organizational Psychology graduate program at the Psychology Department of Auburn University. He has active research programs addressing personality assessment, personnel selection and leadership attributes. He won the 2005 Ralph Alexander best dissertation award from the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management. In 2007, he was the winner of a Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Foundation grant for research on reducing faking in personality tests in selection contexts. He has published extensively on Industrial/Organizational topics, including personality assessment and personnel selection. Dr. Fan’s research team has been working with AAI since 2009 on issues related to cross-cultural personality assessment and applicant faking behaviors in personality assessment. He has extensive knowledge of selection and personality assessment procedures in China. Because of Dr. Fan’s extensive expertise in personnel selection and the Chinese culture, he coordinates and serves as the primary point of contact for AAI’s business in the Chinese market.
